Gas Tank 32 Gallon Contemporary
This is a 32 gallon competition style bolt in tank for the CCX Contemporary Classic Cobras. This is a beaded aluminum tank with the kick outs behind the rear wheels for extra capacity. It increases the capacity over stock by 14 gallons. From behind and underneath it looks like the 42 gallon comp tanks in the CSX comp and SC cars.They are constructed of marine grade aluminum for corrosion resistance inside and out. The tank is hand TIG welded and leak tested under pressure. The tank is divided with baffles to minimize fuel sloshing. They have dual fuel pickups for main and reserve mounted inside a trap to hold fuel at the pickups during cornering and acceleration. Pickup size is specified by customer to existing fittings or to HP requirements. Tanks also feature a drain plug for service or as an additional fitting for a return line. Fill neck size is customer specified and is relocated from the original. This requires a different location hole through the trunk floor but in turn allows a straight shot for faster and more complete filling with less blowback and surging. The tanks have a fuel sender flange to install a sender that will actually work with Smiths or any value fuel level gauge. Tanks also have a vent fitting to assist filling and to prevent a vacuum building up. We highly recommend a tip over valve plumbed into the vent line and a one way valve in the fill hose. Any additional fittings or parts are available through us.
This tank comes with under tank channel straps and rear hangers all made from steel with the look of originals. You can add a bolt strap to your existing tie bar or get a C channel tie bar like original cars available separately.
