Girling Cap Wrench

$20.00

The cobra brake and clutch reservoir and caps are made of zinc-plated steel and are prone to rusting. Invariably, when you want to check/add/flush the fluid, you can’t get the cap off. If you opt for sliplock pliers, you end up destroying the cap.

We’ve made a wrench to fit the shape of the cap, allowing it to be unscrewed without damage. Trust us, there will come a day you’ll be happy this is in your tool chest. Color of wrench may vary.

Sold as each

NOTE:

This wrench is manufactured to fit tightly onto a new, unpainted Girling lid. If your lid(s) are painted or swollen due to corrosion, it may be necessary to slightly open the polygon shape. This can be done with a small file/or fingernail file, or an emery board. Be very careful not to take off too much. Remove material only on one side of the opening - using a clock face as a reference, between 12 and 6, and preferably between 2 and 4 only.

CAUTION: To work properly, the wrench should fit close. If it is opened too much, the wrench may slip. If you’ve opened it too far, sometimes it may be recovered by placing a piece of plastic bag over the cap, then placing the wrench over the plastic and the cap. The plastic will help reduce some of the opening. Remember, you can always make the opening bigger, but it is very complicated to make it smaller.
